Fan Mail

This Roper Elementary first grader was really “drawn” to us!

Thanks for the concert at Roper last night. It was great fun. My daughter Meghan, a first grader, drew this picture when we got home last night. Hope you like it.

Hooked on The Beans

I am the mother of one of the students at Seymour Elementary School in Ralston and recently got the chance to see you perform at their Chili Feed/Raffle Night.

My son is a huge fan of yours and is constantly singing your songs and I just had to e-mail and thank you for doing such a wonderful job. Your performance was great and I know that I am not the only parent who was having fun listening and watching.

I hope that you continue to do your show. And if you ever get a TV Show (even if it is a PBS show), please know that you already have one family hooked.

Saturday Morning with Books and Beans

If anyone can get families to a library on a Saturday morning - it is The String Beans! They were excellent as always - arriving early, interacting with the audience, etc.

Christmas with the Beans

Although we missed you at the parade, the girls had fun putting up the Christmas Tree this weekend while listening to your new CD. Here is a picture of Natalie and Paige. I can’t tell you how much they love you guys!!! I am sending my sister in Georgia (a preschool teacher) one of your CD’s for Christmas. I know her class will love it.

All 4 Kids Expo - 2006

I would like to thank you guys for a wonderful performance at the All 4 Kids Expo today.

I am a child care provider in Aurora and I rarely get a chance to attend events such as this. But today my girls and I made the trip and had a GREAT time! They loved your music and I must admit it is catching!

So we purchased your CDs and the coloring book and I have to say Thanks for entertaining them for that hour drive home also.

Old Friends and New Fans

I was at Barnes and Noble the other night and someone mentioned the Christmas Tree lighting. They also mentioned that the String Beans would be playing - as if I should know who they were. You see I’ve been out of Lincoln for 12 years and don’t know much of what’s going on here anymore. Anyway, my wife and I stopped by and listened for a couple of minutes but felt a little guilty because our kids were at their Grandmas - plus it was starting to rain - so we left. It turns out I do know the String Beans. I was thumbing through the Lincoln Kids! Family Newspaper trying to decide whether this would be a good place for advertising my business and I saw the article written by Curtis. Just wanted to say congratulations! Your music sounds great! Good luck with the new CD!

Bringing that Effervescent Giddiness

Dear Beans,

You probably don’t realize how much fun and laughter you bring to everyone in the audience, especially your fan base. Things can be going really wrong or be clothes-biting stressful, but when we laugh until we cry at the antics of the kids, the brothers, or the serious-io Freddy and his drop-dead guitar playing, for an hour or so glee usurps the real world. Thank you for bringing that effervescent giddiness into our lives.

See you at the next gig!

Love to Get Jiggy with the Beans

Great show this morning! At one point Santa Claus himself was looking sort of bored and dejected because he was totally upstaged by the Beans. That’s a feather in your cowboy hat. We are proud and excited to be among your ever-increasing, loyal fan base.

I also wanted to share the fuller picture of what we love about the Beans. We love what you are doing in the community. It’s hard work to play all the shows (big and small) and it is such a gift to each kid, each audience. Personally, we always look forward to the opportunity to be silly, sing, laugh and dance--and watch others do the same. We love that you guys are creating a quality experience bringing families together, producing great music, and spreading contaigious FUN in the process. I hope you always remember what a gift you’re giving people, and on so many different levels.

So. A big heartfelt thank you for what you guys are doing. We will continue to spread the word and look forward to joining the circus when we can. Please let us know if there are other ways we can help our favorite band.

Take good care!  Long live the Beans!

Sincerely,
Erin (for Jim and Henry, too.)
